Overview
Pink and yellow bands give this fish the nick name "Bubble Gum" snapper. A deep dwelling species from 450-750 feet deep. White, tender, delicate flesh, excellent steamed or poached. Gindai are harvested with vertical hook and line fishing gear. The State of Hawaii imposes catch limits and seasons to ensure continued sustainability.
